FAQ
What do I need to bring?
You shouldn't get too mucky but don't wear your favourite trousers/skirt and shoes!
Can we use SAT NAV?
Yes. Head for SY11 4HS
How long do I get actually hovering?
This depends how quickly you pick it up. If you get it quickly, you will be able to get in all your laps and finish with a race or two. If you, like many, don't get it so quickly, you will spend more time on the ground. Generally each person gets around 6 laps of our 2.5 minute track with pool. This tends to vary significantly if groups are quick or slow to progress - some get more, some less. The group effectively books a 'time slot' so the more time dithering or being late, the less time doing the actual fun bit!
Is there food available?
Yes. There is a good pub 1 mile away, called the Queens Head, which you will pass on the way here. Otherwise we can organise a cold buffet for you. There are also burger vans on the airfield at weekends
Is there a weight limit?
Yes. 18 stones
Is there a minimum age?
Yes. 15
What's the best way to book?
As much dealing online is prefered, followed by a cheque to Hoverdays to confirm the session
When do I need to pay a deposit?
As soon as you can. Saturdays are by far our busiest days and get booked early. Sundays and during the week are generally more available. Once you have established an available date, a deposit of £20pp is requiried in order to confirm your session. The easiest way is to send a cheque, payable to Hoverdays along with a note of the date you are booking. You may pay over the phone if you prefer, or by BACCS or PayPal
When is the balance due?
Up to 3 weeks before the arrival date by card, cheque to Hoverdays (preferred) or BACCS - or in CASH on the day - no other forms of payment are feasible on the field when you arrive. Stag and hen parties usually prefer to pay cash on the day if numbers attending are not certain. This way you don't pay for people who don't make it
